Literacy in Context (LinC)Teachers face the challenge of not only teaching their specific subject matter, but also teaching students how to read materials within their content. This content area reading is where many students struggle. Each subject area seems to have its own language. Too often students read just to get by when reading in specific content areas. Comprehension is not achieved. The LinC Cycle is a great strategy to use to help this matter. The cycle uses four connected steps: Assess, Reflect, Plan, and Teach.
